Mail & Guardian Online: Bye-bye to bike after 75 years



After 76 years, 80 000 km, two saddles and 15 sets of tyres, William Wagstaff retired His old Steel Horse, Evans, bought for £14 in 1929.

This trusty steed can be found on display in Londons Transport Museum to which Wagstaff donated the cycle.

World's biggest bicycle

K Sudhakar "The wacky automobile designer" has finished His latest creation. A 42 feet high and 3 tonnes heavy bicycle. When not building bikes, He build cars shaped like toilets, cricket balls, suitcases etc. etc.

Liking the extremes, He also built the smallest bicycle in India, 6 inches high.


Yeah, it's the one in the back!
